5 knitting patterns for the summer

With the arrival of summer, our desire to knit continues, but we often lack ideas.

We have a long list of projects for sweaters, cardigans, and shawls for the winter, but when we see the magnificent balls of linen and cotton at Miss Kits sometimes we are left blank. What can I do with this? Or you only think about knitting shawls, which are awesome, but you want to knit a t-shirt, right?

In today's post, we bring you the solution because we will recommend 5 awesome patterns. And we are also going to help you choose the best yarn for a comfortable summer knit.

Aerial view top, un patrón de Irina Anikeeva1) Aerial View Top, a pattern by Irina Anikeeva.

This spectacular t-shirt is knitted top down with a sport-weight yarn. It has a delicate openwork on the sides that accentuates the silhouette.

This is an elegant and the same time delicate garment, which will look good both to get ready to go out to dinner or to go with jeans in a somewhat more casual look.

This little roomy t-shirt, with positive ease up to 5cm, is knitted with 3.75mm needles, and the pattern is available in English and Russian

The Aerial View Top will look great if you knit it with Katia Concept Cotton-Cashmere or Katia Tencel-Cotton.

If you want a cooler and lighter garment without losing the drape and enhancing the lace, try knitting it with Katia Linen.

Zinone, un patrón de Andi Satterlund

2) Zinone, by Andi Satterlund. This summer top pattern comes in two versions, and you can choose which one you want to knit.

The stunning lacework on the back is easier to knit than it may seem, and it is undoubtedly an element that will attract all glances.

If you want to impress everybody with your summer knits, this t-shirt is a success.

Our choice for Zinone, although it is not fingering yarn, is Katia Lino 100%. Make a tension swatch! If you have never worked with linen (a yarn with a wonderful drape, but that shows all your tension issues until you block it) before and you want a perfect result since minute 0, we suggest you Katia Panama, 100% cotton, or  Casasol Flame 1 Cabo, which viscose proportion will make easier your first encounter with linen.

Jenny Flower, un patrón de Julie knits in Paris3) Jenny Flower, by Julie Knits in Paris.

If you are not going to let summer keep you from knitting with the wonderful hand-dyed yarns from Miss Kits' Wall of Sin, this tee designed by Julie is perfect for that.

Si no vas a permitir que el verano te impida tejer con las maravillosas lanas teñidas a mano de la pared del pecado de Miss Kits, esta camiseta de Julie es perfecta para ello.

Designed and knitted with just 2 skeins of Townhouse Yarns Trinity 2ply is a lace-weight tee, perfectly cool and light for wearing all summer.

Geraldine Top, un patrón de Amanita Agata Mackiewicz4) Geraldine Top, by "Amanita" Agata McKiewicz.

In the same line of thoughts as the previous suggestions, knitting summer garments with 100% hand-dyed wool is perfectly possible.

Merino wool is thermoregulatory: in a hot environment, merino wool regulates temperature through evaporative cooling. Merino wool retains air bubbles between the layers of its fibers, creating a chamber that isolates us from the outside temperature in both winter and summer. Just as our body sweats to cool us down when it is hot outside, the air trapped between the wool fibers will evaporate, and this will cool us down. In addition, merino wool is resistant to odors. It absorbs moisture very well, leaving its surface always dry, so in case of sweating, you should not worry about noticing your wet garment against the body for hours.

At Miss Kits we have hand-dyed yarns made of 100% merino wool, like Kitten by Sóc una Troca!!! or Hosenmatz 4ply by Frida Fuchs, which will look gorgeous in a Geraldine Top.

Anker's Summer Shirt5) Anker's Summer Shirt, by PetiteKnit.

Designed with Sandness Garn Line, this tee from the renowned Danish designer PetiteKnit will be with you all summer.

The Anker's Summer Shirt is a top-down tee knitted with circular needles, with a simple and decorative pattern in the yoke, easy to make even by beginner knitters.

Knitted with DK-weight yarn, Anker's Summer Shirt will look amazing knitted with a blend of linen, viscose, and cotton, like DROPS Belle, or with bamboo 100% like Casasol Bambú.
